Try Clorox wipes, I periodically clean my controllers, gets rid of dust, dirt and germs too :) , but they work wonderfully.

welp this method is used also for getting out sticky buttons, boil water in a pot and hang the controller over it and it’ll get the smell and stickiness out of your controllers….give it a try its easy all you need is water and a paper towel

Try Simple Green on a light cloth i have kids and its the best on plastic it wont break down chemically and smells good.
