Both companies are extremely large…the chance of one buying out the other is impossible since they can’t afford each other. On top of that Nintendo is completely different than Sony…and you’re only thinking of America…if you think Japan there is basically no Xbox’s there its just Sony and Nintendo and thats also where their main bases are since both companies are from Japan. So it would become a monopoly there…so not likely to happen…
BUT!
If would be freakin awesome to have a Super Smash Bros. with Cloud from FFVII and Crash Bandicoot and Ratchet and Clank and Dante and MGS characters!
It would almost be orgasmic!!

No that would be a terrible idea besides the 360 isn’t a threat to the wii since they are radically different consoles, also Sony and Nintendo are so different from one another that a partnership couldn’t possibly work in my opinion, don’t forget they tried a partnership before remember the SNES CD add on by Sony that never happened and eventually led to the Playstation.
The wii is aimed at a much broader market than the PS3 is targeting the PS3 marketed as a multi media device while the wii is trying to appeal to people who have never liked traditional consoles, they are just too culturally different I don’t mean nationality wise obviously but in terms of the kinds of business they are.

I think it’s a great idea. I hate microsoft but I know that the plan would never work. Nintendo has already outsold XBOX360 or is really close to it. Sony is bearly past a million. So I don’t think Nintendo would want to parnter up with Sony. But you never know because Microsoft was targeting Sony when they were making the 360, look how that turned out…stupid RROD! haha. They still did a great job of targeting sony. But now that sony dropped it’s price, the system is only $50: (Blu-ray – $250, Game Console -150). So It’s a great deal!! And people are starting to realize that!

Yea right. Theyre both too big to buy eachother out. And besides it would become just like WWE.
They were great while there was competition, once theyre the only show in town they can make S**** games and pay an arm and a leg for it.
Competition drives development to be different. Read up on the american video game crash of 1984.
